On the Road: Cathedral Style!
On the Road in Brugge, Belgium: art, beer and chocolate!
On our way back to Rome, we stopped in gorgeous Brugge where we enjoyed the best chocolate and beer ever!!!! As you can see, I tasted the delicious pralines by Mary, a top Belgian artisanal chocolatier…… The founder, Mary Delluc was the first woman chocolatier in Europe and she established her chocolate atelier in 1919 in Brussels.
We run into some nice street art too……and then off to sleep at the yacht club where the camper parking was located…..Gorgeous…..
On the Road: all set for a big appointment in our Motorhome!

Italian Craftsmanship: Peppe
Peppe is a great artisan specialized in creating metal buckles and decorations. He works and lives in the Marche region, in central Italy. He manufactures for us a number of our buckles and metal bases on top of which Alfredo then welds semi -precious stones and crystals. He starts his work engraving by hand a brass prototype from
one of our designs, he then creates a mold and proceeds to reproduce it in a lighter metal alloy. Modern, rock design meets traditional Italian craftsmanship: Handmade in Italy Rocks.
Design rock e moderno e manifattura tradizionale italiana: Handmade in Italy Rocks.
Italian Craftsmanship: Alfredo and Elena
Alfredo and his wife Elena are amongst a few Italian costume jewlery artisans still working today. They live and work in Rome. Alfredo is expert at welding metals, and as you know we are true fans of metals! We spend long hours in their workshop experimenting with new buckles and metal decorations. Once again traditional craftsmanship meets our glam rock design: Handmade in Italy Rocks
Vivono e lavorano a Roma.
Italian Craftsmanship: Claudio
Claudio is one of the few Italian leather goods artisans still working today. He works and lives in beautiful Rocca di Papa a town in Castelli Romani, the hills surrounding Rome. He uses the traditional techniques of the Roman Master Saddlers and works by hand with the help of traditional tools. Our challenge was using his techniques to create something modern that could appeal to the younger crowds. The combination of our glam style and his traditional methods has created a product that is both modern and traditional. That’s why our motto is: Handmade in Italy Rocks!
